Tynedale Life is an award-winning magazine about the people and communities of Tynedale in Northumberland and it’s free every three months with the Hexham Courant – the county’s leading weekly newspaper.
The magazine is put together by a small editorial team – editor Myles Hodnett, feature writer Emma Andrews and the Hexham Courant photographers, Kate Miller and Tony Iley. Advertising is led by the Courant’s advertising manager Howard Surrell.
The magazine not only covers Tynedale, which itself stretches as far North as the Border with Scotland, but also parts of Cumbria and County Durham.
It is full of general features, and also has separate sections on homes and gardens, food and drink, health and arts – but the real emphasis is on the people behind the stories.
In 2010, Tynedale Life was named North-East Magazine of the Year in the North-East Press Awards.
In 2011, it also won awards for its page design and feature writing. And in 2011 and 2012, Tynedale Life was short-listed in the national Newspaper Awards as one of the top six regional magazines in the country.
We hope you enjoy it.

The spring issue of Tynedale Life is out now and free with the Hexham Courant.
